Biography

Alaunde Copley-Woods serves as Principal Flute for the Greeley Philharmonic and Colorado Chamber Orchestras, and is much in demand as a freelancer up and down the front range, including with the Colorado Symphony, Boulder Philharmonic, and Colorado Opera. She has performed all over the world, from Carnegie Hall in New York City to the Mirinsky Theater in St. Petersburg, Russia. She holds a Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music, and won top prizes in the New York Flute Club, Kingsville International, and Sorantin International Competitions.Alaunde’s artistry has been showcased at Brooklyn Friends of Chamber Music, the Bard, Aspen, Bowdoin, and Colorado Music Festivals, National Public Radio’s Performance Today, McGraw Hill’s WQXR Young Artist Showcase, and the American Composer’s Forum.Her original flute compositions are published by Yamoo Publishing and FallsHouse Press. Alaunde has presented master classes and workshops as a flutist and composer, teaching at venues such as at Manhattan School of Music Preparatory Division, University of Wyoming, and University of Colorado. She teaches privately in South Boulder.
